5 Easy Ways to Remove the TikTok Watermark
When you download a video from TikTok, you’ll notice it includes a watermark. This logo can be especially annoying if it covers an important part of the video. It can also make it more challenging to cross-post the video on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. Fortunately, there are many ways to remove a TikTok watermark!
If your videos are winning fans on TikTok, don’t let that pesky watermark stop you from resharing them onto other platforms. Get the most out of your video content creation by using a TikTok logo remover.
We promise that no fancy TikTok video editing skills are required.
And psstt: if you want our favourite methods for downloading a TikTok without the watermark, check out our video:
What is a TikTok watermark?
A TikTok watermark is a graphic (usually a logo) that is superimposed on top of the video. The purpose of a watermark is to make the origin of the media obvious, so you can’t repost it without attribution.
TikTok includes a watermark with its logo as well as the username of the original poster, as you can see in the bottom right corner of the video below:

Note that TikTok adds a bouncing watermark, which will move around as the video plays. This can present an additional challenge when you’re trying to remove it, but we’ll get into that more later.
Why you should remove the TikTok watermark
Before we dive into why and how to remove the TikTok logo, let’s pause to say that you shouldn’t post other users’ content without attribution! Stealing content is unethical and can quickly escalate into a social media crisis or copyright issue. The tips below are intended for content creators who want to reshare their own TikTok posts and shouldn’t be used to save someone else’s video without proper attribution.
That being said, if you want to repurpose your TikTok videos for Instagram or YouTube, you must remove the TikTok watermark.
Instagram has stated that they deprioritize content with another platform’s watermark. And while YouTube hasn’t explicitly said they deprioritize videos with another platform’s watermark, they did start adding their own watermark to Shorts to discourage cross-platform sharing.
We know you worked hard on your videos, so it makes sense to share them across platforms. But if you want to maximize your visibility and engagement (and increase your chances of showing up on the Instagram Explore page), you should remove any watermarks before re-posting.
How to remove the TikTok watermark on mobile (iOS and Android)
Whether you’re using iOS or Android, there are a few basic methods for removing a watermark on mobile:
Method 1. Crop it out of the video
Cropping the logo out of the video is a simple approach. However, this will change the video’s aspect ratio. If you want to reshare it to another platform that uses the same video size specifications as TikTok, it will leave a black margin around the content.
Cropping also doesn’t work for every video because you might end up lopping off your own head. If there are important video elements near the edges of your video, then you’ll need a different approach.
If you want to try this method, here are the steps to follow:
1. First, save the video from TikTok. To do this, tap the share icon (it looks like an arrow) on the video. This will bring up several sharing options, including saving the video. Tap Save video.
2. Next, open the video in your Photos app.
3. Select Edit from the top-right corner, then tap the Crop icon from the row of options at the bottom.
4. Pinch and zoom to edit the dimensions of the video, cropping out the watermark. Because the watermark bounces around, you’ll need to crop more than one area of your video.
4. Tap Done to save your work.
Once you’ve cropped your video, play it back to check that it worked. If it didn’t, it’s time to try something else.

Method 2. Use an app to remove the watermark
Many video-editing apps exist just to remove TikTok watermarks on iOS and Android. These will import the video and bypass the watermark altogether.
If you search “remove TikTok watermark” in the Apple Store, you’ll find many apps designed for this purpose. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention!
The number of options can be overwhelming. SaveTok, SaveTik, Saver Tok, TokSaver, TikSaver— it can be hard to tell them apart! So how to choose one?
Well, before you dive in, know that none of these apps are affiliated with TikTok (or Hootsuite). All of them are unsanctioned tools designed to bypass the watermarking process. So they could stop working someday if TikTok changes their API.
It’s also important to note that not all of these apps will remove the watermark. Some, like SaveTok, are designed to curate a saved collection of watermark-free TikToks without actually downloading them to your phone.
Finally, read the reviews carefully! As TikTok’s user base grows, more companies are popping up to capitalize on content creators trying to make it big — a perfect storm for scammers making false promises. While every app we reviewed had at least a four-star rating, some of the reviews told a different story:
And while most of these apps are free to download, they will either bombard you with ads or require payment. Most offer weekly, monthly, or yearly subscriptions. These range in price from around $5-20 USD per month, though some are less than a dollar per week if you buy a yearly subscription up-front.
If you frequently need to remove TikTok watermarks quickly and easily, a subscription might be worth the investment (be sure to read the reviews first to verify that the app is legit and isn’t just taking your money). Many, like TikSave, also offer a free trial period if you want to test them out first.
Apps that can remove TikTok watermarks also come with other features, such as scheduling and sharing functions. Depending on your needs, those may justify the price tag.
Okay, enough disclaimers! Time to try an editing app. Fortunately, they all generally work the same way. We tried SnapTik because it offers a free version.
Here’s how to use SnapTik to remove the TikTok logo on mobile.
1. Download your app from the App Store or Google Play. Here’s what it looks like in the app store (there were about six different apps called SnapTik when we looked, so this is the one we used):
Source: SnapTik on the App Store
2. Open the app. It may prompt you to purchase a subscription or a free trial.
3. Add a video. To do this, open TikTok and find the video you want to download without a watermark. Tap Share and then tap Copy link.
4. Open your watermark remover app again. It will automatically ask if you want to allow the app to paste the link you just copied. Tap Allow Paste.
5. From there, you can download the video without the watermark by tapping Download Video. If you’re using SnapTik’s free version, you’ll have to watch a 30-second ad before the video will be downloaded to your phone.
Method 3. Using a video-editing tool to remove it
This is the most complicated approach, and honestly, it’s way easier to save a video without the watermark in the first place. But we’re giving you all the options!
First, search the app store for a watermark remover tool. The caveats above apply: most of the “free” tools will bombard you with annoying ads or require in-app purchases to work. And the quality varies, so read reviews and do a free trial before you commit!
From there, the App Store is your oyster. We tried Video Eraser.
Here’s what this one looks like in the App Store:
1. Save your TikTok video to your Camera Roll.
2. Select Local video/GIF from the menu options.
3. Pinch and drag to highlight the area with the watermark. Most of these tools will only allow you to remove one watermark at a time. Because the TikTok watermark bounces around, you’ll have to do this in stages.
4. Save your video. Then, open the edited video and select the area for the second watermark.
5. Save it again. Then, export the edited TikTok video to your Camera Roll.
Video Eraser (and other free apps) can sometimes be a little finicky, so double-check your finished product to make sure it’s what you had in mind.
You can also try an editing tool like Canva to add a border around your video. If you use this method, just keep in mind that the border should be fairly wide to ensure it covers anywhere the watermark may bounce around.
Method 4. How to remove the TikTok watermark online
If you want to remove the TikTok watermark online from a desktop, your options are pretty much the same as on mobile.
You can use an app or video editing tool to remove it. The easiest and quickest web-based app we’ve found is MusicallyDown.
Here’s how to remove the TikTok watermark online using MusicallyDown.
1. Open musicaldown.com in your browser
2. Enter the link you want to download
If you look underneath the giant ad in the middle of the screen, you’ll see a space to enter the link to the video you want to download.
Once you’ve entered the link, click download.

3. Download your video
Next, click on Download MP4 now.

Your video will automatically be downloaded to your computer. Check your downloads folder to make sure it downloaded properly and doesn’t have a watermark.
Method 5: How to download a TikTok without the watermark
If you want to avoid the hassle of using watermark removers altogether, then you need to know how to save a video without the TikTok logo in the first place.
On mobile, there’s a scrappy way to save your video without a watermark, and it doesn’t require any app or video editing tool.
As you create a video in TikTok, open up your screen recorder to record the video on your phone before publishing it. Then, open up your saved videos and crop and resize the video for whichever platform you want to post it on. That’s it!
