Making it Easier to Create Custom Stories Ads
Making it Easier to Create Custom Stories Ads
Facebook BusinessStories help you deliver your message in a fullscreen, immersive environment, and reach people who are open to discovering new products and deepening relationships with brands. In order to help businesses easily run ads in stories, we’ve had automatic default templates that take any creative asset and render it for the fullscreen vertical space. Now, we are introducing new customizable templates for stories ads across Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.
When designing creative for a digital campaign, we always recommend creating unique assets for different placements when possible. Doing this will help ensure people are seeing a version of your idea that makes sense in the context where the ad will be shown. However, as marketers and businesses, we have finite resources and time, and it may not always be possible to create specific assets for each placement. To help tackle that challenge, we’re making it easier for businesses of any size to create for fullscreen vertical stories placements.
Customizable stories templates provide you with the flexibility to customize your existing assets for stories with minimal effort. After uploading your existing assets to Ads Manager, you can choose from a variety of layouts, and then use the editing capabilities to select from different background colors, text options, and cropping options. Using stories templates helps extract more value from your assets and can save time and resources. They also provide any business the opportunity to extend their reach to stories placements with creative that feels native to the immersive stories environment.
Initial tests on Instagram Stories showed that by going beyond using the default template and using customizable templates that allow you to tailor an asset for your brand and campaign, you may see better campaign performance. , a company who helps businesses glean real-time insights, chose to use stories templates to transform a still image into an attention-grabbing ad for Instagram Stories that was tailored to their brand. By using an automatic template to run in stories, they saw 468 incremental app installs. By taking it to the next level and using customizable stories templates to tailor their creative, they saw an additional 40% increase in incremental app installs and a 29% reduction in cost per incremental click compared to when using the automatic default template.
After the test’s results, it was clear that the video ad created with stories templates for Instagram Stories worked quite well and much better than a static image. As a result, we have started to customise our ads and create videos for Instagram Stories in our campaigns.
